Floods

On the west coast of NZ, there was a massive flood,and it caused 3 things such as power lines brought down,stranded residents and also closed roads. its very hurtful when I think about it.

World Vision

On the 8th of November Glen brae School Room 7 went to Telstra clear stadium to help with the world vision!
We are so proud of ourselves actually we were proud of Mrs Boyer for organizing this for us!

It was so fun when we were rehearsing,Hannah and I went back stage and auditioned to become soloists!But for Hannah it wasn't fun because she didn't get a part!but luckily I did.

When we went for the real show it was great!
Every one was in mufti.Mrs B wore this nice top and a kind of skirt(cant remember)We sat and waited patiently for our row to be called!As we walked we saw Suzanne Prentice. She sang with us!It was fun!

At the end of the performance 4 children were sponsored! So please help these poor kids and sponsor a child yourself!

Its has just past midday and I have finished my divided by 7 basic facts!I cant wait for my next challenge on my 8s!I Probably don't know half of it!

Mathemagician

Today for maths Triangles did their division by 3. It was fun even though I had 1 wrong! Now I know what I need to learn! I got 95% right in 0 mins and 37 secs.

Finally Tonga Won a game!

Sadly Tonga had lost their two games but to be honest apart of me was happy because they lost and the other part was sad!Finally they won their game against Japan and another part of me was angry!
I go for Tonga even though I am Samoan!

My Butter Beast

This morning room 7 went off to rm 2! We had a lot of fun with mini Beast hunts and a lot of other activities. Well some people did but I know I definitely did! When we did activities I was in activity group 4 Our task was to go on a site called www.mylearning.org.
Hey maybe you can go on this site when you have time because it's fun.
Wait where were we? Oh yeah when you go on the site there will be a sentence saying, "Create you own mini beast," When I went on it I created a really funny looking mini beast that I hope will exist soon.

Zoo keepers care for the largest big cats and have a busy job with an early start.They prepare the enclosures for the day and put something interesting for the lions like a bunch of strong smelling herbs or zebra manure.This picture shows an animal close up. !Snow Storm Traps Motorist!

Snow falling across the country has trapped more than 1oo people in their cars.A polar Blast swept up the country.Down in Wellington they're having to close the roads,because of how much snow there is. Cars are struggling to get through.Central police are out and about in their Helicopters help the people that are trapped!!!

P.S I hope the people are warm and don't freeze to death because of the weather!

Bob Marley

Gwuann Bob Marley was born on February 6 1945 in Saint Ann in Jamaica. He introduced Reggae to the world. He is very famous.
Bob Marley died of cancer in Miami on May 11th 1981. Mr Marley had 12 children,4 by his wife Rita Marley.Bob Marley's Dad died when Bob was only 10 years old. He was interested in Reggae when he was young. Bob Marley was the Reggae Super Star. Everybody loved him (especially me!).

Bob Marley inspired me to sing. His voice sweeps through my ears and calms me down.

This Term is all about Animals.

This term is all about animals and I cant wait! I know that Mrs Boyer's got so much to teach and we got so much to learn!Well I hope we learn about Lion's because Lions are my favourite!Oh yeah and I can't wait to start the rotation were we go around to the other classes and and get taught be another teacher.Well I have to be patient but I cant wait!

With out you I would not be here. When I shut you down and see your colour disappear,I start to cry. You are everything.I can not imagine being with out you. You take me every where. About:
The Australian Barn Owl.
Habitat:
The Barn Owl roost in hollow logs,caves or trees.They like to live in open countries like farms and lightly wooded forest.
Feeding:
Barn owls mostly feed on small mammals in the night like mice and birds but sometimes insects,frogs and lizards eaten.Barn Owls hunt in flight,searching for prey on the ground.
Breeding:
Barn Owls do not have an breeding season.They lay up to 4 to 7 pale white eggs.The mother incubates the eggs,but both care for the young.

From the past few days room 7 have been going on a Field Trip,but on our net books with Andrew,our Learnz teacher.It's been very fun because were learning about birds of prey!This picture shows a cute little More Pork that probably just hatched.Its my favourite picture and not only is it my favourite, I think Mrs Boyer kind of likes it too because of her little squeals. "O.M.G I just want to hug it,it looks so cute!"

Best Friends

Talofa Lava and Malolelei this picture shows me and my best friend Tamee.Tamee and I have been friends for 5 years.We met when we were both 5 years old.Tamee and I love reggae,we both love Bob Marley too.I am 10-years old and so is Tamee.We both love to sing and wish to become famous just like Bob Marley.Right now my and Tamee are in Mrs Jay Boyer's class at Glen brae,Room 7,year 5/6. We both love our teacher she is fun and fantastic.One day Tamee's and my dream will come true!

Air Pollution is very dangerous it can make you sick or it can kill you.
In some countries their air is polluted by trucks,cars and also factories.
Air pollution is a problem to all of us.
Air pollution also exist in houses and buildings.
Air pollution can cause a lot of damage.

New Zealand Falcon

The New Zealand Falcon is a threatened specie and is endangered to the point of extinction.
The falcon is a fearless predator and is the world's fastest bird with speed up to 250km per hour.
The N.Z falcons eyesight is 8 times better than our own.
They mainly feed on small birds,insects and rodents.
Introduction:
The Blue Mao Mao are gorgeous little fish and are tasty to eat.
Habitat:
Blue Mao Mao are found around Eastern Australia.

Blue Mao Mao LOVE to eat tiny plankton and krill.
Conclusion:
Blue Mao Mao are beautiful underwater fish and if you see them remember don’t be greedy and take them all or else there will be no more!!!

Emperor Penguin

An Emperor penguin,"Happy Feet", was washed to shore and found at the Peka Peka beach of the Kapiti coast in New Zealand.The Emperor penguin had mistakenly thought that the sand was ice so he ate a lot of sand and when people had found him he was full of sand and sticks.Happy Feet had tubes down his throat sucking all of the sand out.Happy Feet can not eat properly.Now he is in the Wellington zoo.
